Protect the Glow: Why Heat Protectant Is A Non-Negotiable

Question: How hot can a hair straightener or curling iron get? Answer…up to 450°!
Next question: What’s the right temperature for your hair? Answer…it depends. It could be 300°; it could be 350°. How processed is your hair? Do you use bleach or color? How fine or coarse are your strands? All this makes a difference in the amount of heat your hair can tolerate.
Last question, how can you be sure that your hair is safe, even if you don’t set the temperature quite right on your tools? Answer…always use a heat protectant!
The tools are great. Straighteners, curling wands, blow dryers... they help us feel polished, styled, and put-together. But here’s the thing: every time you use heat without protection, your hair loses a bit of its natural strength and moisture. Think of it like tanning without sunscreen; it looks cute for a minute, but the long-term damage is worth taking seriously. 😬
That’s where the heat protectant comes in.
A good one creates an invisible barrier between your hair and the heat. This barrier locks in moisture and reduces breakage and color fading. It’s like SPF for your strands. And if you color your hair like our lovely clients (especially blondes!), this step is mandatory.
👉 Pro tip, feel free to write these down…There are two different types of heat protecters. Make sure you choose the right one.
One designed for damp hair only: Use before blow-drying.
The other designed for dry hair only: Use before straighteners, curling irons, or touch-ups.
